Tim and Lisa were invited to design the front entry and garden for this beautiful Berkeley Hills Gerald McCue Mid-Century Modern home.  The front garden is essentially the only outdoor living area, besides two small decks off the upper floor.  A hint of separation between the main entry and the patio was desired - creating a cozier living area, it also allowed a bit of obscurity of the secondary entry, while keeping the front entrance as the main drag.  Sometimes two entries close to each other can be confusing to visitors. It is scaled to go with the house, and though not over the top, it is grand and in keeping with the architecture it surrounds.  The compacted decomposed granite patio was a must for their clients, and the main walkway composed of poured in place concrete, dissolves to the patio while continuing to the front door.  All failing or poorly designed walls were redone in concrete including pillars for the new gates, which was fabricated by Sculptural Gates, of Sonoma.
